Weka's Trip to the Botanical Gardens

Here are some photos from our trip to the Botanical Gardens. We had a lot of fun looking at all the interesting plants in the Hot House, playing games, and exploring the gardens in general.

Duffy Theatre comes to Te Waka Unua!

On Thursday Weka was lucky enough to attend the Duffy Theatre. This time it was Duffy and Weather Girl save the World. 

We learnt about global warming and simple things we can do to help save the world such as having shorter showers and walking to school. 

There were awesome songs and cool science experiments like making a cloud in a plastic bottle. 

   

                                                                    

Botanical Gardens

Just a friendly reminder that our class trip to the Botanical Gardens is this Friday. If you haven't already, could you please pay $2 to your home room teacher. Thank you to those who already have paid!

Buddy Work with Piwakawaka

Part of Weka 4 and Piwakawaka have begun a buddy programme that runs on a Friday afternoon. This has been great for our little friends in Piwakawaka getting to know some other children in the school and seeing some great role models in action. Here are some photos of our buddies and some of the activities we have achieved with them.

Mau Rākau

On a Thursday there are a group of boys and girls who attend Mau Rākau. This is a chance to learn skills around taiaha, Māori language and traditions.
